We are seeking a charismatic and talented individual to serve as the Director of Community Relations. The ideal candidate will possess sales and business development experience in an assisted living, healthcare, hospitality or similar environment. To excel in this role, you should hold a thorough working knowledge of the industry and be able to market our exceptional, one-of-a-kind assisted living residences and services to the surrounding community with great expertise, professionalism and panache. This position will require both inside sales and outreach to the community to generate leads and cultivate new business referral sources. Knowledge of referral sources in your geographical area is preferred. This position will be 80% Inside Sales and 20% Outreach (one day per week).

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Greeting all visitors in a warm, friendly and engaging manner
  • Answering inquiry calls with a professional demeanor and obtaining the most information about the caller in an effort to schedule a visit
  • Strategically collaborating  with the Executive Director to create an effective resident referral program and converting those referrals to residents
  • Conducting tours of the community for prospective residents and their families; appointments to be pre-planned and well thought out
  • Understanding the Salesforce system and maintaining an active prospect database
  • Collaborating with The Bristal and other community referral sources
  • Following sales training systems and incorporating, where appropriate, the methods found in sales training manuals on public file
  • Following up regularly with prospective residents, and making a minimum number of outgoing calls per day with the goal of scheduling visits
  • Following up regularly with referral sources and allocating one day of outreach per week to doctors, elder law attorneys, hospitals, rehabs, etc.
  • Completing all required move-in paperwork and collecting rent monies due prior to move-in and assisting new residents in getting acclimated
  • Managing all marketing inventory, as directed
  • Creating and/or hosting various marketing and sales events
  • Conduct ongoing networking with outside referral sources
  • Belonging to and attending SUN (Senior Umbrella Network) as well as attending at least one additional local community association's meeting each month for the purpose of attaining leads and community visits
  • Overseeing the accuracy of available apartment inventory
  • Maintaining weekly traffic and census reports and completing a weekly outreach report
  • Completing quarterly marketing strategy and competitive analysis reports to be submitted to the Executive Director, Senior Vice President of Operations and VP of Marketing at requisite intervals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Full-time schedule requires working one weekend day per week (Tues-Sat)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing preferred
  • Sales or business development experience in an assisted living, healthcare, hospitality or similar environment preferred
  • A proven ability to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Must have the ability to "close the deal"
  • Top-notch prospecting, networking, relationship-building and new business development skills
  • Ability to connect as a trusted advocate and sell in a consultative manner
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills a must, possessing the ability to clearly and calmly relate to and communicate concisely with a diverse group of people
  • Professional image and an eye for excellence in detail
  • Exceptional telephone and communication skills
  • Ability to relate well to seniors, their families and their advocates
  • Natural organizational skills with the ability to concentrate on many tasks at once
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be a Notary Public or be committed to obtaining a license within 6 months of hire
  • Patience, perseverance and follow-through a must
