The Marketing Communications Assistant supports marketing various Bristal Communities by providing project management and administrative support under limited supervision.  Maintaining promotional and marketing materials inventory; trafficking new jobs; maintaining databases; preparing reports; developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns; planning events, meetings and trade shows.  This position will be in our Corporate Headquarters in Bohemia supporting our in house Corporate Marketing Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting VP of Sales and Marketing and Director of Marketing in coordinating various integrated communication and marketing activities.
  • Researching new media and helping to plan for new campaigns.
  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Generating all marketing purchase orders, making purchases, submitting check requests, maintaining spend down reports and submitting invoices for payment.
  • Proofreading all marketing material and advertisements.
  • Managing and updating of the various websites as needed.
  • Working with agency, properties and outside companies to create and deliver journal ads and other necessary materials for sponsorships or events.
  • Plan and execute community events.
  • Keeping promotional and collateral materials available by coordinating requirements with VPSM, MD and sales staff, inventorying stock, placing orders, proofing art, coordinating delivery and verifying receipt.
  • Interface with internal and external customers along with marketing vendors.
  • Being the liaison between ad agency and properties in the creation of advertisements, flyers and other printed materials.
  • Participating in public relations efforts as needed.
  • Internet marketing – researching, making recommendations, and implementing marketing initiatives utilizing Facebook, You Tube, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networking sites. Monitoring online review and social media sites for tracking communications related to the brand of the company.
  • Coordinate corporate mailings and direct mail.
  • Organizing tear sheets and printed samples to track quality and consistency.
  • Attending meetings with ad agency, sales department and ownership as needed.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading trade publications.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to operate under solid pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook skills.
  • Effective project management and job trafficking skills.
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles.
  • Effective understanding of latest technologies and should identify how to apply them in marketing.
  • Possess strong language skills including proper grammar and usage, proofreading and copywriting capabilities.
  • Plan decisions and practice good judgment.
  • Build excellent working relationship to attain goals.
  • Work collaboratively and efficaciously as a team member.
  • Be self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.
  • Effectively communicate and make best use of interpersonal skills.
