The Regional Director of Clinical Nursing Services provides regional support to the Executive Directors in the Long Island NY region of Resident Services. The position will be focused on all of our Long Island Bristals with a predominant focus in Nassau County. This includes but is not limited to development and dissemination of wellness policies and procedures as well as staff education of same.  The Regional Director will monitor resident services and adherence to Bristal procedures through an effective quality assurance and improvement program.  The Regional Director of Clinical Nursing serves as a resource to the Executive Directors in the area of wellness including but not limited to resident care programs, staffing, budgeting and resident issues.  The Regional Director of Clinical Nursing Services is responsible for planning and executing training and education for the Resident Services staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to all Bristal policies, practices and values.
  • Develop, implement, review and revise standardized Bristal policies and procedures in adherence with all pertinent regulations as well as best practices.
  • Work with the Executive Directors to ensure adherence to resident services policies and procedures.
  • Support the Executive Directors in improving and creating resident service programs.
  • Perform site visits to provide training and guidance as needed to execute Bristal resident service programs and policies.
  • Develop quality assurance monitors and conduct regular quality assurance reviews at each site to ensure compliance with all Bristal resident services procedures and pertinent regulations.
  • Responsible for the Education and Training of staff to develop effective programs to support, coach and mentor the Resident Services Staff.
  • Assist Executive Directors in the recruitment, hiring and orientation of Resident Service Directors and Reflection Directors as needed.
  • Assist the Executive Directors with ensuring appropriate resident services staffing levels.
  • Participate in the development of annual budget for Resident Services Departments.
  • Support the Executive Directors during the survey process and survey response if required.
  • Provide reports as required.
  • Keep abreast of current trends, regulatory requirements and practices in the senior living field.
  • Perform all other responsibilities and duties as required by the VP of Healthcare.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare administration, education or related field.
  • NYS RN License
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management position in a Senior Living or Long Term Care Setting.
  • Excellent communication and personal interaction skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to various Bristal communities at varied times on Long Island with the potential of some travel to Westchester
